William Cleveland Shifflett

William Cleveland Shifflett, 82, of Earlysville, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was the son of the late William and Althea Shifflett of Dyke, Va.
He is preceded in death by five children; David, Steve, Eugene, Sherry Lynn and Eddie Cleveland; brothers Elvin and Melvin Shifflett, and a sister Clair Shifflett.
Mr. Shifflett is survived by his wife Rose (Peggy) Shifflett to whom he was married 62 years; five children; Linda Makepeace and Dennis Shifflett of Charlottesville; Keith Shifflett of Dyke, Rose Haney of Earlysville, and Jerry Shifflett of Faber; brothers, Eddie, John and James Shifflett and sisters, Emma Mae Morris and Ethel Pugh; as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Family night will be held at Nortonsville Church of God in Dyke, VA on Wednesday, July 6 from 6-8p.m.
A funeral service will be Thursday, July 7 at 11am, also at Nortonsville Church of God followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Dyke.
A special Thank You to the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor at Martha Jefferson Hospital for taking such great care of our husband, father and grandfather.
