William Earl Shifflett, Jr., (W.E.) of Stanardsville, VA passed away on August 31, 2017. He was born on August 25, 1965.
W.E. was handicapped from birth, could never walk, could not talk much and required care for all of his basic needs. He was tough and smart and learned how to communicate concisely what was on his mind and did not mind letting you know exactly what he was thinking. He developed a rather unique personality where he could be funny, cantankerous, or mischievous, but always lovable. He brought much joy and love to his family and those who knew him. His legacy will be that he taught all of us valuable life lessons and he will be missed. Rest in peace, W.E., you can run, play and sing with the angels now.
W.E. was the son of the late William Earl and Essie Shifflett. He is survived by four sisters, Brenda Wyant and her husband, Wade, Linda Dunnivan and her husband, Royce, Janet Andrews and Darnell Morris and her husband, Randy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge his caregivers, Mim, Cindy, Sally, Eunice and the late Linwood, as well as Dr. Niehaus and Hospice Care of Charlottesville.
