William Thomas Payne, 85, of Stanardsville died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1925 in Charlottesville, VA to the late William and Martha Payne.
Mr. Payne was a WWII veteran serving his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his children, Marian P. Harlow and her husband, Chuck of Charlottesville, William T. Payne, Jr. and his wife, Peggy of Stanardsville, Richard A. Payne and his wife, Brenda of Williamsburg and Edward F. Payne of Staunton.
Additional survivors include his sister, Virginia Mawyer of Charlottesville, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Highsmith.
In honor of Mr. Payne’s request burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Greene Co. Rescue Squad, PO Box 302 Stanardsville, VA 22973-0302.
