It is with a heavy heart that the family of William (Bill) Kyler, of Ruckersville, VA, announces his passing at home on February 14, 2025, with Charlotte, his wife of 41 years, and CoCo, his much-loved poodle, by his side. And yet it is with abundant joy that his transition from this earthly realm to his eternal heavenly home was a beautiful and extraordinarily peaceful example of our Heavenly Father’s mercy and love.
Bill is also survived by his sister Janice, son Bart, daughter Cindy, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus who are still doing extraordinary work for God’s kingdom.
Bill grew up in Chambersburg, PA. He served in the U.S. Army and ended his career of 38 years as an Army civilian at the Foreign Science and Technology Center (currently National Ground Intelligence Center). After retiring, while also pursuing a wide range of personal interests and community endeavors, Bill reaped immense rewards while serving within the Fluvanna and Greene County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (A-EMT) and Motor Sergeant, managing the operational readiness of the EMS fleets.
A going home message shared by Pastor Charlie Rogers (Calvary Chapel of Greene) and music by Pastor MyraJoy Corassa (Northridge Community Church) will be held at the Batten Funeral Home Chapel (12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968) on February 25th at 11:00 a.m., with a private family burial at the Culpeper National Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, please consider donating in support of community ministries undertaken by Calvary Chapel of Greene (50 Sassafras Lane, Ruckersville, VA 22968) and/or Northridge Community Church (5100 Dickerson Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22911).
Words can not adequately express our gratitude for the fervent prayer support from family and friends, beginning with Bill’s first heart surgery in October 2012 and with every heart-related episode that followed. Our most profound appreciation goes to Bill’s superb healthcare professionals and support staff at Charlottesville Family Medicine, the University of Virginia Medical Center, and Hospice of the Piedmont for the exceptional care and responsiveness provided by each of them.
Arrangements are entrusted to Batten Funeral Home of Ruckersville, Virginia.
An online guestbook is available at www.battenfuneral.com for those wishing to share memories or offer condolences. Your kind words will bring comfort and strength to the family during this time.
