Virginia Madeline Steele, 76, of Barboursville, VA went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 26, 2018, after suffering from an illness at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1941 in Buckingham, VA to the late Alonzo and Mildred Eddy.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry C. Steele; daughters, Lynn Steele Morris and her beloved Brian Wilson, Deborah Ann Silman and her husband, Richard, and Mildred Francis Steele-Hollenbeck and her husband, Joseph; siblings, Charles Eddy, Joseph Eddy, Jean Johnson, Theresa Smith, Dennis Eddy, Freyda Tran and David Eddy; grand children, Natasha Lewis and her husband, Dave, Taylor Morris, Bryant Morris, and Michael Granato; great grandson, Elijah Liam Steele-Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Betty Eddy, and her brother, Roger Eddy.
She had suffered from various ailments for some years but was always surrounded by her loved ones. Family was the most important thing in the world to her and she loved, and was loved, deeply. Her deepest and most enduring love was for her husband. They were soulmates who met and married in a matter of months. Her favorite past time, besides spending time with family, was long drives with her husband, that sometimes would last for weeks. She was a masterful seamstress and tailor, and was lucky because it was one of her favorite things to do.
