Vera Ann Sims

Vera Ann Sims, 78, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on December 29, 1944 to the late Scott and Mollie Faulkner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters.  

Vera was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Stanardsville. She was the leader of her family; a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and having everyone over for family meals. 

Vera is survived by her husband, Raymond Sims, daughter JoAnn Nicholson (Lewis), son Raymond W. Sims (Michelle), seven grandchildren; Brian Sims (Nicole), Dwayne Sims (Christina), Rico Penn (Kelly), Tamesha White, Markasha Fisher, Korrino Thorne, and Dupree Rucker, and eleven great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel.
