Thomas N. Parr

Thomas “Tommy” Newton Parr, 73, of Charlottesville passed from the bounds of Earth on July 28, 2018 while in the care of Martha Jefferson Hospital. Tommy was born June 6, 1945, son of the late Daniel Robert and Catherine Clements Parr.

Tommy worked a number of years in the auto parts business and the last 15 years as the owner of Tommy’s Taxi. Tommy’s father was a disabled veteran and both his mother and father worked diligently with the local and state chapter of the DAV, Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by a younger brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Brent Parr; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Parr.
Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas Parr, Jr. (Donna); daughters, Debbie Hawley (Leroy) and Dawn Denise Ownby; stepchildren, Bonnie Croes (Shawn), Jeff Riddle (Ola) and Rodney Riddle; brothers, William Parr and Mike Parr; special friends, Mark Benson and Don Barnes; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the DAV Chapter 33, PO Box 6816, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
