Theodore Kalman Kasna
Ted, as he was known to his friends, was born on December 21, 1934, in the Bronx, NY. The oldest son of Theodore A. Kasna and Josephine Ruzsjak Kasna. His parents and his brother, Robert Kasna, preceded him in death.
Ted was married to his wife, Patty, for almost 40 years and spent most of his adult life in northern Virginia. He had two children with his first wife, Bethann Beeman of Virginia and Jon Kasna of Florida. In addition, Ted had two stepsons, David Walther and his wife Rochelle and Tim Walther and his wife Lori. Ted had eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
After high school, Ted joined the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. It was after his time in the Navy that Ted found his calling, working for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency in Washington, D.C., where he retired as the Director of Contracts and Procurement in 2000.
Ted was an avid sports fan, rooting for the New York Jets, the New York Mets, and his favorite team, the Washington Capitals. Later in life, Ted became a golfer, recording a hole-in-one and spending time with his friends on various golf courses in Virginia and the Carolinas.
