Stanley Leigh Morris, 69, of Dyke passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 21, 2017. He was born on May 16, 1948, to the late Fred A. Morris and Reba Dotson.
Stanley is survived by his children Rhonda Clinedinst and her husband, Ron; Julie Morris; Brian Morris and his wife Allison; and their mother Janice Morris. He is also survived by his partner Patti Wilson and their son, Jonathan Morris; Patti’s son, Ryan; and Patti’s granddaughter, Callie Wilson.
Stanley will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren, Logan McElroy and Fiancé, Aly Ladd; Annie McElroy; Maggie Morris; Noah Vann; Braydon Morris; and Rylyn Morris. He is also survived by his stepmother, Irene Morris; sister, Karen Baugher; brothers, Keith Morris and wife Jackie; Alvin Shifflett and wife Terri; Layton Morris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Arnold Morris.
Stanley proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired after serving honorably as a Naval reservist for 30 years.
Stanley was a founding member of the Dyke Volunteer Fire Department and after many years of service became a lifetime member. He enjoyed calling bingo, selling raffle tickets, and traveling to pick up new fire equipment.
Stanley worked tirelessly as the owner of Stanley L. Morris Excavating and could be seen driving his truck or working with his equipment across Greene and surrounding counties.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 6 until 8p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Church in Dyke, VA at 2 pm.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery on Evergreen Church Road.
A reception will follow at the Dyke Volunteer Fire Department.
