Shawn Christopher Morris, also known as “Horse", 26, of Ruckersville passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012.
Shawn was born August 15, 1985 in Charlottesville to Ronnie Eugene Morris, Sr. and Diane Goolsby Morris.
He was preceded in death, by his paternal grandfather, Elzie Eugene Morris and a special cousin, Eddie Jackson Goolsby.
Shawn is survived by his parents, Ronnie Eugene Morris, Sr. and Diane Goolsby Morris of Ruckersville; his daughters who were the loves of his life, McKinleigh Camryn Morris and Harlan Reign Morris of Stanardsville; his brother, Ronnie Eugene Morris, Jr. and his wife, Candice Rhea Morris of Ruckersville; his sister, Megan Danielle Morris of Ruckersville and her boyfriend, Jermaine Davis; a very special niece, Cailyn Renee Morris; the mother of his daughters, Sarah Smith of Stanardsville; paternal grandmother, Bertha Fincham Morris of Ruckersville; maternal grandparents, Roy and Martha Goolsby of Ruckersville; Aunts and Uncles, Patty and Henry Shifflett, Brenda Compton, Diana Deane, Fern and Donald Shifflett, Roy and Jenny Goolsby and Sharon and Brad Burleson; special friends, John and Mike Woodson; and many other friends too numerous to name as well as other family members.
Shawn was a 2003 graduate of William Monroe High School and was employed with Martin Horn Construction.
“Horse” was an avid fisherman and hunter; loved to play pool, cards and horseshoes. He also loved to swim, his favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys and he loved to “attempt to sing.”
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Monday, February 13, 2012 Spring Hill Baptist Church, 2620 Frays Mill Road, Ruckersville. Interment will follow at Ruckersville Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Goolsby, Roy Goolsby, Jr., Newton Morris, Mike Morris, Darrell Morris, Steven Shifflett, Cody Williams, and P.C. Shifflett.
