Akouvi Cherita Sandra Gbeblewou was born on December 17th, 1980, in Togo, West Africa to Mr. Martin Gbeblewou and Antoinette Anatovi as one and only daughter among six siblings.
Sandra received a high school diploma in Togo before moving to Ghana to join her father and siblings in July 2000. In March 2001, Sandra and her family migrated to the United States of America. In 2003, she started her first job in the United States working as a cashier at McDonald' s.
Also in 2003, Sandra’ s love and passion for children led her to UVA’ s Malcolm Cole where she worked as a preschool teacher for over 17 years. Sandra’ s continuing dedication to her job led her to pursue an associate degree in early childhood from Piedmont Virginia Community College PVCC in 2015. In 2020, her journey led her to work with special needs children at Woodbrook Elementary School.
In August 2020, Sandra was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. After three years of battling this disease with a combination of many treatment options including holistic treatment, her body gave up. She was called home by the Lord on Friday, December 29th, 2023.
Sandra was so jovial, friendly, kind, and generous that all who met her fell in love right away. She loved God and committed herself to God’s work. She became a faithful member of Riverstone Church after serving the Lord for many years at Living Church International. Her service to mankind touched many lives and will continue to branch off for years to come.
Sandra is survived by her beloved husband; Yves-Christian, her father; Martin, her brother; Carlos, her nieces and nephews, her cousins, and many friends and church members she’s adopted as family who meant so much to her.
May the endless light shine on you.
Rest in peace, Dear Sandra!
