Ruth Dixon Gosnell Kuper
Ruth Dixon Gosnell Kuper, 87, of Charlottesville, VA died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Rosewood Village. She was born on April 4, 1926 in Danville, VA to the late James Frank and Maude Esther Dixon Gosnell.
She met the love of her life, Bernard “Bud” Kuper in Danville, VA on September 19, 1945 and married him 32 hours later on September 20, 1945. They were married 66 years! Ruth loved to cook and sew and was also a school bus driver and retired from the VA school systems after 15 years. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed and always loved.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Motameni and her husband, Daryoush of Stanardsville, Kathy Poland and her husband, Paul of Stanardsville, Steve Kuper and his wife, Susan of Laurel, MD, Cynthia Varrieur and her husband, Paul of Marietta, GA, Alisa Lam and her husband, Dale of Stanardsville, Maurice Kuper and his wife, Penny of Stanardsville, Brian Kuper and his partner, Tracy of Phillipsburg, NJ, Eric Kuper of Earlysville and Scott Kuper and his partner, Jenny Varner of Stanardsville, 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, and two brothers, Frank and Harold.
In addition to his parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Kuper, one sister, Virginia, one brother, Floyd and one grandson, Timothy Kuper.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont for their kind care and compassion.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church with Father Dan Bain officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A private interment will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery.
