Roy Lee Morris

Roy Lee Morris, 66, of Schuyler, Virginia, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the Center for Acute Hospice Care. He was born May 19, 1958, to the late Roman Morris, Sr., and Sarah Catherine “Kitty” Morris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roman Morris, Jr., and an extraordinary friend, Viola Hoke. 

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Roy Sheldon Morris of Lenoir, North Carolina, Sarah Elizabeth Hipes (William Joseph Hipes) of Schuyler, Virginia, and Amy Marie Aldape (Matt Aldape) of Beeville, Texas; six grandchildren, Erica Lynn Morris and Kaylee Dawn Morris of Lenoir, North Carolina, William Joseph Hipes, Jr. and his girlfriend, Molly, of Crozet, Virginia, Hannah Marie Hipes and her fiancée Dustin of Free Union, Virginia, Hayden Lee Aldape and Abigail Rene Aldape of Beeville, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Arabelle Virginia Hipes of Crozet, Virginia; one brother, Leon Morris (Diane) of Greene County, Virginia; and special friends, Howard Bryant and Rebecca Salada.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Batten Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jamie Bryant.
