Robert Crocket Morris, Sr., of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1931 in Inman, VA, to the late James Walker Morris, Sr. and Martha Virginia Ireson Morris.
Mr. Morris served our country in the United States Air Force as a Korean War Veteran. He was director of the Speech and Hearing Center, professor at James Madison University and was the Silver Beaver Award Recipient of the Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; Alice Jo Gilliam Morris; 14 children; Alice Virginia Morris Judd, Sarah Rebecca Morris Beck, Robert Crocket Morris, Jr., Joseph David Morris, James Everette Morris, Thomas Paul Morris Sr., Julian Glenn Morris, Jonathan Saunders Morris, Sonny Walker Morris, Timothy William Morris, Victor Edward Morris, Norman Lamont Morris, Felicia Ann Morris Housden and Jeremiah Bart Morris; 39 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; brother, Rev. George Ewing Morris; and sister, Patricia Ann Morris Grayson.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 5:30pm at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1275 Timberwood Blvd, Charlottesville, VA 22911, with Stake President C. Thomas Carter presiding.
Interment will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11:00am, in Lee Memorial Gardens in Pennington Gap, VA.
