Robert Lee Morris

Robert Lee Morris, 80, of Ruckersville, VA died on Monday, August 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 4, 1932 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Lester Lee and Julia K. Shiflett Morris.

Mr. Morris loved being outdoors tending to his garden and coon hunting. Most of all he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all.

He is survived by his daughters, Shirley Mae Painter and her boyfriend, Tony Shifflett of Ruckersville, VA, Kimberly Stump and her husband, David of Elkton, VA, and his son, Galen Morris and his wife, Patricia of Stanardsville, VA.

Additional survivors include his step daughters, Jane Harris of West Virginia and Judy Harris of Salt Lake City, Utah, step son Ervin Harris of Zions Crossroads, his sisters, Marie Morris of Ruckersville, VA, and Bernice Wood of Fredericksburg, VA, his brothers, Norman Morris of Stanardsville, VA and Journey Morris of Alexandria, VA, grandchildren, Melissa Painter, James Painter, Mark Anthony Shifflett, Cayden Stump and Lynn Gibson. He will truly be missed by all of his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Cason Morris, his daughter, Tracy Lee Morris and his sister, Dorothy Lewis.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Prichard for all of his help, Hospice of the Piedmont and very dear friends, Juraine Wampler, Lorna Gibson, Chris Bork, Pam Chapman, Donna Reece and Dennis Shifflett for their help and support.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. C.C. Kurtz officiating.

Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville, VA.
