Robert Lee Marshall, 78, of Stanardsville, VA passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on July 20, 1939 in Albemarle County to the late Simmon and Virginia Marshall.
Mr. Marshall drove the school bus in Greene County for over 38 years. He was an avid farmer who was well known throughout the county. His kind nature made him many friends and he never met a stranger. He had a passion for NASCAR and his collection of NASCAR and Farmall items. Above all, he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Marshall; daughters, Tammy Marshall Weldon and Peggy Darlene Ellis; grandchildren, Brittany Ellis and David Weldon; great grandchildren, Brayden Marshall and Bentley Seale; siblings, Randolph “Randy” Marshall and his wife, Irene, Margaret Crews and her husband, Jerry and Linda Matheny; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two son-in-laws.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
