Robert Leigh Childs, 82, of Ruckersville, VA died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born on July 21, 1928 in California to the late Robert and Vera Bing Childs.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anne Childs of Ruckersville, and six children, Elaine Whittaker and her husband, Art of Hampton, VA, Jan Komjian and her husband, Donald of Huntersville, NC, Robert Childs, Jr. of Manasquan, NJ, Mark Childs of Central Valley, NY, Dawn Childs of Stillwater, NJ and Becki McKenzie and her husband, Billy of Charlotte, NC.
Additional survivors include his sister, Marilliss Newberry of KY, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A funeral for Ret. Navy Veteran Robert Leigh Childs will be a private burial at sea.
