Phillip Scott Morris, 35, of Free Union, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1980 in Charlottesville, VA to John Wesley Morris, Jr., Melissa K. Morris and his stepfather, George Shifflett who he thought of as a father.
Phillip “Scottie” possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, serving others and spending time with his friends and family. His signature gift of joy, shown through his constant smiling, laughter and joking around will never be forgotten. His kind and compassionate soul won the hearts of many. Above all, he shared an amazing love for his children. They were his whole world and his devotion to them was endless.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Samantha Jo Morris; his children, Madelyn Grace Morris and Luke Brennan Morris,; his sisters, Crystal “Crissy” Morris and Brittany Shifflett; grandparents, John Morris and Doris Roach; his nephew, Andrew "Drew" Rosson; his nieces, Alaina Rosson and Brynli Shifflett and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Iler Morris and grandfather, Alex Roach.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Glen Shifflett officiating.
