Perry Bolling McSherry
Perry Bolling McSherry, 53 of Ruckersville, VA died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born on April 19, 1960 in Charlottesville, VA to Bobby and Virginia Newcomb McSherry of York, PA.
When Perry was 9, he and his family moved to York, PA where he spent his childhood and upon graduating high school he went to college at William and Mary and was graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Once he completed college he moved to New Orleans and studied at Tulane University where he received his master’s degree. He returned to Yorktown / Jamestown and worked as an archeologist for the James River Institute for Archeology. His fate later took him to Thailand where he taught Kindergarten and then English literature and poetry at Chiang Mai University. He met the love of his life during his 7 year stay whom he married and had a son. He returned to the states and became an English teacher at Madison County High School where he was loved and adored by so many.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Chanowan Kulsiri McSherry, his son, Isaac Gawin McSherry, his sister, Tracey Boylan Currier and her husband, Kyle and his nieces and nephews, Delaney Boylan, Finley Boylan, Taylor Currier and Bryce Currier.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at Madison County High School auditorium with Father Stephen Lahey officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the UVA Hope Center, 1215 Lee St. Charlottesville, VA 22903.
