Peachey Eugene Shifflett

Peachey Eugene Shifflett, 89, of Stanardsville, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 23, 1933 in Greene County, daughter of the late Gemes Osby Shifflett and Gladys Shifflett.

In addition to her parents, Peachey was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lee Shifflett; daughter, Betty Shifflett Lam; brothers, Cecil Shifflett and Recil Shifflett; son-in-laws, Robert Knowles and John Forloines; and sister-in-laws, Sandy Shifflett and Margaret Shifflett.

Peachey is survived by her daughters, Martha Forloines and Cheryl Knowles; sisters, Lois Shifflett (Freeman) and Barbara Breeden (Ronnie); brothers, Melvin Shifflett and Norman Shifflett (Ruth); sister-in-law, Christine Shifflett; grandchildren, Wendy Bishop (Sam), John M. Forloines (Belinda), Brandon Forloines, Dustin Forloines (Lexi), Logan Forloines (Amber), Brittany Knowles, Ashleigh Spangler (Dustin), Samantha Schirtzinger (Mike), and Christopher Lam; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Peachey was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Mennonite Church.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Monday, October 24, 2022 at Mt. Hermon Mennonite Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 24, 2022 at Mt. Hermon Mennonite Church with Vernon Peachey officiating.  Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
