Naomi Snow Powell, 95, formally of Quinque, VA passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Journeys Crossing. She was born on September 8, 1919 in Greene County to the late Clarence and Emma Naylor Snow.

Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy White Powell and an infant son.

She is survived by her three sons, Roy W. Powell and his wife Connie of Natural Bridge, VA, Stanley Powell and his wife, Kephany of Crozet, VA., and David Powell and his wife, Connie of Elkton, VA, six grandchildren, John Patrick Powell, Samuel Powell, Courtney Thomas, Whitney P. Mooney, Matthew Powell and Skyelar Powell and 5 great grandchildren.

Naomi and Roy lived in Washington DC for 10 years where they worked for the Government. They moved back to Quinque, where they owned and ran Powell’s General Merchandise for 40 years. Naomi has lived at Journeys Crossing in Elkton, VA for the last 5 years. Mom will greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 1p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Shifflett, Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Ruckersville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 789 Ruckersville, VA 22968 & / or the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, 3355 Berkmar Dr., Charlottesville, VA 22901.
