Merval J. Harlow (nee Snow) of Edgemere, MD age 94, passed away at home on Friday, May 4, 2012.
She was born December 25, 1917 in Stanardsville, Virginia to the late Asberry D. and Mamie A Snow. S
She was united in marriage to the late Ollie S. Harlow on October 29, 1940 in Greene County, VA and shortly thereafter moved to Edgemere, MD where she lived for 72 years. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved son Ollie Wayne Harlow Sr., brothers Aubrey E. Snow and Asberry D. Snow Jr. and sister Zelda E. Handy and brother-in-law Charles Herring.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Margaret Harlow of Essex, MD, grandchildren Ollie Wayne (Laura) Harlow Jr. of Sykesville, MD and Jennifer (Paul) Sikorski of Edgemere, MD, sisters Oneida Herring of Earlysville, VA and Olgene (Jinks) McDaniel of Barboursville, VA and twelve grandchildren: Laura Romanowski, Joseph Moore, Jr., Joshua Moore, Christopher (Natasha), Patrick, Jacob, Jeremiah and Jonathan Sikorski, Abigail, Rebecca, Caroline and Emily Harlow and 3 great-great grandchildren: Paige and Arianna Romanowski and Matthew Longacre and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc., 7922 Wise Ave. on Tuesday, May 8, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM.
Visitation will continue at the Ryan Funeral Home in Ruckersville, VA on Wednesday, May 9 from 7-9 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the Swift Run Baptist Church on Thursday, May 10 at 12 PM.
Interment Holly Memorial Gardens in Ruckersville, VA.
