Mavis Alda Deane

Mavis Alda Deane, 87, of Ruckersville, VA died on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on May 1, 1924 in Greene County to the late Will and Betty Hamm Shifflett.
Mrs. Deane was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed gardening her flowers and visiting with others but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Alda Shifflett of Ruckersville, Edward Deane and his wife, Alice of Ruckersville and Roy Deane and his wife, Sonya of Barboursville.
Additional survivors include her sister, Edith DeVaughn of Florida, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 6 -8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, may 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Goss officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Greene County Rescue Squad, PO Box 302 Stanardsville, VA 22973.
