Mary Elizabeth Royster

Mary Elizabeth Royster, 87, of Ruckersville, VA formerly of Unionville, VA, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at her daughter’s home.

She was born August 3, 1931 in East Bend, North Carolina, daughter of the late Jesse Coram and Callie Martin Coram.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Royster, Sr; two sisters; and two brothers.

She was a member of Albemarle Baptist Church. Mary also enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading and doll collecting. Mary worked for many years as a personnel manager for Woolworth’s Department Store.

Mary is survived by one son,, George “Stanley” Royster, Jr. and his wife, Marie of Charlottesville, VA; two daughters, Deborah L. Roberts and her husband, Michael, of Ruckersville, VA, Diane E. Bowman and her husband, Harlen “H.C.” of Hurt, VA ; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Albemarle Baptist Church, 1685 Roslyn Ridge Rd. Charlottesville, VA 22901.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2018 at Albemarle Baptist Church with Pastors Marc Deloach, Ed Leake and Stanley Royster officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Unionville. Following the interment, a time of fellowship will be held at the church.
