Mary Ellen Parr

Mary Ellen Wade Parr, 73, of Ruckersville, VA passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016. She was born on January 14, 1943 to the late Bessie and Allus Wade.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Lila Alice Hasselberger and her brother, Allus Wade, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Parr; and two brother-in-laws, Tommy Parr and Mike Parr.
Mary Ellen grew up in Schuyler, VA and attended Schuyler Elementary School and Nelson County High School. In 1962 she married her high school sweetheart, Bill. She worked a number of years as a bookkeeper and in 1990 she joined her husband in their moving and storage business, Charlottesville Transfer and Storage. They operated the business together until their retirement in 2009. She had a love for animals, family and friends and will be missed deeply. Mary Ellen was as close to being and earth angel as there has ever been! Now she is a real angel.
The family will celebrate Mary Ellen’s life on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Madison – Greene Humane Society, PO Box 95, Ruckersville, VA 22968 &/or the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, 3355 Berkmar Dr., Charlottesville, VA 22901.
