Mary “Maxine” Morton
Mary “Maxine” Morton of Ruckersville, VA departed this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Maxine was 89 years old.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Mack & Sarah Mildred Woodfolk Morton; two daughters, Barbara & Sarah Morton; two sons, Michael & Melvin Morton; a granddaughter, Latisha Bolden; four sisters, Myrtle, Geraldine, Thelma & Edna; four brothers, Henry, Elmer, Albert, & Jimmy; and her beloved friend, Stark Williams.
Maxine leave to cherish her memories, one son, McKee Morton of Ruckersville, one sister, Mamie Bright of Madison; 12 Grandchildren, James(Connie), Bruce (Janice),Sandy (Wesley) of Greene Co, Brien (Felicia) of Charlottesville, Steve (Jennifer) of Elkton, Lawrence (Sandy),Terry (Tammy), Keonette (Harry), Chanel, Keyanna, Jonathan, all of Greene County &Jay (Rosie) of Florida; 23 great-grandchildren & 8 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
Maxine joined Bethany at an early age under S. E. Barrett. She was a faithful member, and part of the Missionary Ministry. She was educated in the Greene Co. Schools, and later went on to be a “Short-order” cook for the 29 Truck Stop for 40 plus years. She retired from the Ramada Inn Hotel.
Early in life she enjoyed a good game of Bid Wiss and watching the “Funny Cars” and the races before settling down and spending much of her time at church and area revivals. Maxine had a love for her family and enjoyed cooking and raising us all even to the very end.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00am at Bethany Baptist Church, 16034 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville VA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
