Mary Estelle Morris, 83, of Ruckersville, VA died on Friday, January 4, 2013 at her residence. She was born on September 7, 1928 in Greene County to the late Herman Shifflett and Lelia E. Morris Shifflett.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Estelle Collier of Ruckersville, her son, George Morris and his wife, Jeanette of Ruckersville and her sister, Phyllis Aldridge and her husband, Hunter of Mineral, VA.
Additional survivors include grandchildren, Shelia Lamb and her friend, Keith Bourne of Stanardsville, VA, Kevin Collier and his wife, Jennifer of Madison, TN, Sheri Davis and her husband, Jon of Hendersonville, TN, Carole Mundie of Charlottesville, VA, Theresa Dorman and her husband, Wayne of Louisa, VA and Chris Morris and his wife, Cassandra of Ruckersville, VA, great grandchildren, Timothy Lamb and his wife, Stacey, Heather Lamb, Elaine Collier and Aiden Collier, Cole Davis, Clara Beth Davis, Curtis Mundie, Katelyn Hunt, Corey Dorman, Dawn Dorman and George Dorman, great-great grandchildren, Braydon, Jackson and Reece and her special family and friends at Ruckersville Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Ann Profit and Patsy Fox and close friends, George Tennyton and Frances Lee.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. “Buck” Morris, son-in-law, Donnie Collier and her brothers, Raleigh, Junior, Sparks, Elmer, Herman, Jr. and Ray Shifflett.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Ruckersville Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Clements officiating.
Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
