Mary Vergie Deane
Mary Vergie Deane, 84, of Stanardsville, VA died on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at her residence. She was born on June 13, 1927 in Greene County to the late Andrew and Carrie Shifflett Roach.
Mrs. Deane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all. She enjoyed cooking for many people but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, George Deane, Joyce Gibbs, Doris Wills and her husband, Jerry, Mary Morris and her husband, Tommy and Patricia Rosedale who was like a daughter.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Jackie Bartholomew, Scott Wills, Ryan Gibbs, Justin Morris and Candy Deane, great grandchildren, Emily Bartholomew and Emma Wills and her siblings, Virginia Snow, Lena Woodson, Thelma Morris, Charles Roach, James Roach and Edith Conley.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Deane and her siblings, Dora Lee Lamb, Floyd Alton Roach, Andrew Roach, Glen Roach, Dewey Franklin Roach, Doris Jean Roach and Lonnie Roach.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Lamb officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society 1445 Rio Road East # 104 Charlottesville, VA 22901-1751.
Interment will follow in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.
