Marie Early Burley

Marie Early Burley, 79, of Barboursville, transitioned on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her home. She was born on September 3, 1936 to David and Mamie Early.
She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Stanardsville, VA and was a self employed domestic worker for 61 years. She enjoyed yard and estate sales, her pets, and sports, mainly her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving to be with the ones she loved the most.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Wayne Burley; two brothers, James and Paige Early; and two sisters, Nellie Mae Johnson and Lucy Mae Thomas.
She is survived by nine children, Rosa Burley of Charlottesville, VA, Larry Burley of Barboursville, VA, Patricia Burley-Choloski of Charlottesville, VA, Dorothy Grear and her husband, Larry of Burtonsville, MD, William Burley and his wife, Jacqueline of Bensalem, PA, Phyllis Smith and her husband, Thomas of Palmyra, VA, Brenda Burley of Ruckersville, VA, Jackie Horton and her husband, George of Barboursville, VA and Maxine Burley of Barboursville, VA.
Also to cherish her memory are 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thanks to Moms caregiver, Shar’on McNabb and the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 71 Shiloh Rd, Stanardsville, VA 22973 with Dr. Harrison Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
