Margaret Mary Mero

Margaret (Maggi) Mary Teresa Mero, 78, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2024, at her home in Greene County, Va. She was born in Long Island, New York on September 19, 1945. 

Maggi is preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Marie Harris, and son, William “Billy” Pugh. She is survived by her sister, Michelle Davenport, and children John Harris, Joe Harris, Cheri Freiwald, Jack Harris, Allen Carroll, Kim Burton, Wendy Burton, and Amy “Baby” Burton, as well as 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Maggi was known throughout the community from her time working at the Dean’s 29 Truck Stop in Ruckersville, where she touched so many people's lives. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed a peaceful and simple life, drinking her coffee and spending time with her family and four beloved cats.

Arrangements are entrusted to Batten Funeral Home of Ruckersville, Va.

The family welcomes the community to attend her service at Panorama Natural Burial Cemetery (3550 Reas Ford Ln. Earlysville Va 22936) on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 10am. There will be a celebration of life immediately following on site.
