Mabel B. Shifflett

Mabel B. Shifflett, 95, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away Friday, July 16, 2021.

Mabel was born March 26, 1926 in Greene County, Virginia, daughter of the late Herbert Collier and Lettie Smith Collier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Linwood Shifflett; sons, Larry Shifflett and Jimmy "Twinkle" Shifflett; brothers, Ennis, Elbert and Delmar; sisters, Hildred, Lillian and Earl Jean; and granddaughter, Candy.

Mabel is survived by her sons, Lynn Shifflett, Wayne Shifflett and Troy Shifflett; grandchildren, Jason, Shane, Lance, Carrie, Jamie, Brandon, Dustin and Kevin; sisters, Dolly Morris and Dorcas Dodson; brother, Dallas Collier and his wife, Margie; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephew and friends.

Mabel was employed by A & P for many years. She had a very special love for children and enjoyed taking care of other’s children.  Mabel was an exceptional seamstress who did meticulous upholstery and sewing work.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968 with Pastor Mark Holder officiating.   Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 S. Kings Highway Alexandria, VA 22306.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
