Mabel Frances Bailey Davis
Mabel F. Davis, 85, of Earlysville, VA entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on October 15, 1929 in Albemarle County to the late James Overton and Anna Frances Via Bailey.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Frances Staton and husband, Roger, Wilda Davis of Earlysville, and Jane Parkins and husband, Randy of Huntsville, AL; sisters, Virginia Rybolt of Charlottesville and Lily Hewey and husband, Bob of Merrimac, MA; grandchildren, Robert L. Davis, Jr., Tara Staton Fortune, Becky Staton Jarvis and Roxanne Walton Carter; sister-in-laws, Charlotte Tomlin and Lucille Garling; 5 great grandchildren and many numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Hubert Davis; her son, Robert Lee Davis, Sr.; brother, John Edward “Plu” Bailey and his wife, Dorthy Bailey; and brother-in-laws, Archie Gay Tomlin, Paul E. Garling and John Rybolt.
After retirement from GE, Mabel enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and helping family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 10 am to 11 am at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968 with Pastor Norma Dean officiating. A Graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at Mt. Paran Cemetery on Welsh Run Rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westover United Methodist Church, PO Box 200, Ruckersville, VA 22968 and/or the American Heart Association (heart.org) and/or Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA (caspca.org).
