Lydia Christine Davis

Lydia Christine Davis, 88, of Stanardsville, VA went to her heavenly home peacefully on October 17, 2015 at her home. She was born on January 16, 1927, to the late Herman Berry and Edith Alma Berry.
She was a perfect mother, grandmother and GG, completely adored by her family. She was born on Middle River and graduated from William Monroe High School. She worked at the Pentagon during World War II, where she met the love of her life, Sewell Abbot Davis, and then started a family. She then retired back to Greene County nearly 42 years ago. She was a very active member of Stanardsville United Methodist Church, where she will be greatly missed. Mom truly appreciated the calls, cards, and visits from family, friends, church members, her pastor, Rev. Chuck Winner, the UMW, and her dear neighbors, Virginia, Richard, and Barbara Morris, Connie and Sherrard
Flora, and Jewel Berry. Mom loved all of you.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Sewell Abbot Davis; brothers, Warren Berry and Alban Berry; sister, Mary Ann Garth .
Mrs. Davis is survived by her children; Richard Davis and his wife Candace, Mary Konetski and her partner John Ganoe, Jo Anne Worley and her husband Tim, Susan Lam and her husband Gary and Jim Davis and his wife Lisa. Grandchildren; Rachel McVearry and her husband Ryan, Sarah Davis and her husband David Rosenthal, Jason Lam and his wife Erin, Holly Perkins and her husband Kody, Jim Konetski, Katie Garland and her husband Greg, Kristin Baber and her husband Patrick, Rebecca Worley, Matthew Davis, Joshua Davis. Great-grandchildren; Lexi, Morgan & Brady Lam, Dillan Konetski, Saylor, Savian and Shevaun McVearry, Gatelyn and Knoxx Perkins, Chloe and Willow Davis – Rosenthal, and Joanna Baber. Brother; John Berry.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Stanardsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Worley of Trinity United Methodist Church of North Garden officiating.
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be; Greg Garland, Kody Perkins, Jason Lam, Jim Konetski, Matthew Davis, Gary Lam and Patrick Baber.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Brooke Bostic and staff, caregivers Cindy Hicks and Tina Haney, and Hospice staff for their loving care.
