Lois Margaret (Mathis) Tuthill
Lois Margaret (Mathis) Tuthill, 92, was born on August 28, 1920 in Hiawassee, GA, fifth in a family of ten and died on September 23, 2012 in Charlottesville, VA outliving all her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her four children, her son, Lonnie and his wife, Sandra, her daughters, Janice and her husband, Hap, Cindi and Traci, 19 grandchildren and spouses, 20 great grandchildren and spouses and 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family and loved ones.
She was a ballroom dancing instructor for many years and sang at Walter Reed Army Medical Center to entertain our wounded veterans.
She belonged to the Annandale Chamber of Commerce and was a longtime fixture in the family business, Tuthill Stationery Office Supplies, retiring in 1992. She supported the Boy Scout Troop No. 150 for many years, active in the Annandale Lioness Club and was an officer of Faith Chapter No. 177, O.E.S., Annandale, VA.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968. An Eastern Star service will begin at 1:45 pm followed by a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mark Holder officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Greene County Rescue Squad, PO Box 302 Stanardsville, VA 22973.
