Lena Evelyn Jones

Lena Evelyn Jones, 87, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on April 1, 1936, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late Huston and Retha Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, CSM (Ret.) Franklin D. Jones; her son, Karl A. Jones; and two sisters, Betty Jones, and Marie Brown.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin F. Jones, 1SG (Ret.) Kendal W. Jones (Lori), and Keith D. Jones (Sheila); seven grandchildren, Heather Jones, Jason Jones, Justin Jones (Jacqueline), Stephanie Corrins (Patrick), Christopher Jones (Britta), SFC Kyle Jones (Karlee), and Dwayne Jones (Casey); and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Shifflett officiating.
