Kelsie Marie Watson

Kelsie Marie Watson, 87, of Ruckersville, departed this life on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Hospice House on Park St. in Charlottesville. She was born on March 24, 1925 in Greene County, VA to the late G.N. and Fronie Watson.

Ms. Watson was a member of the Westover United Methodist Church and a school bus driver for Greene County for over 24 years. She remained very active outdoors, mowing her grass and tending to her garden whether it were her flowers or vegetables until last year when her health started to decline. Her sweet spirit will always be remembered by her loving family and friends.

She is survived by Anna W. Florence and her husband, Richard of Ruckersville, J.B. Watson and his wife, Michele of Ruckersville, Kathleen W. Harlow and her husband, Greg of Quinque, Franklin J. Robertson and his wife, Paula of Ruckersville, P.T. Robertson of Richardsville, VA, George Copsey and his wife, Anne of Falls Church, VA, Michael Copsey and his wife, Mary of Florida, Mary C. Lamb of Florida and several other nieces and nephews.

Additional survivors include her a special great nephew, Bruce Florence and his wife, Antonia of Ruckersville and their three sons, a great niece, Mary F. D’Agnese and husband, Victor of Ruckersville and their two sons, a great niece, Cynthia Clatterbuck and her husband, Richard of Brightwood, Amanda W. Clifton and her husband, Adam of Appomattox and several other great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Susan, passed as a child, Josephine, Pearl and Polly and four brothers, Nat, Jr., Floyd, James and Kimble and their spouses. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Carl C. Powell, Jr. who she considered a brother.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968 with Rev. Norma Dean officiating.

Interment will follow in Stanardsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Kelsie’s name to Westover United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 229 Ruckersville, VA 22968.
