Kelly Lee Roberts, 58, of Charlottesville, passed away on May 25, 2024 at Hospice of the Piedmont. Kelly was born on August 6, 1965 to Laura Crawford and Claude Roberts in Charlottesville, VA. Kelly graduated from Madison County High School in 1983 and attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
Kelly worked at University Tire for 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending car shows, and walking around the Charlottesville area. All who knew Kelly knew he was a talker, he never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed action movies and a good cup of coffee. Kelly was an avid Hokie fan.
Kelly was predeceased by his mother, Laura Crawford Collier; step-father, Elvin Collier; father, Claude Roberts; foster parents, Goldie and Junior Aylor; sister, Christina Roberts; brother, Claude Roberts, Jr.; brother-in-law, Roy McNeil; and nephew, James Roberts.
He is survived by his sisters, Toni McNeil, Linda (Kenny) Johnson; brothers, Bill (Debbie) Roberts and David Roberts; foster siblings, EJ (Connie) Aylor, Comer Aylor, and Danny Aylor; special nieces and nephews, Heather (Brandon) Franklin, Ashley (Mike) McNeil-Via, Roy (Jessica) McNeil and many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff and doctors of the University of Virginia Medical Ceneter, UVA Dialysis Center, and Hospice of the Piedmont.
A memorial service will take place Friday, June 7, 2024 at 5 p.m. at Batten Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA, 22968 with a time of fellowship to follow.
