Karen (Rollinger) Hermes, 54 of Madison, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on March 27, 1960 in Miami, FL to the late Clarence and Mary Rorie.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her quick wit, loving nature and care free spirit will be missed by all she knew. She enjoyed tubing down the river, doing crafts and loved working in her yard where her pink lilies are in full bloom. She had a deep love for her family and friends but above all, her love was in her grandchildren whom she adored.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Hermes, three sons, Adam Rollinger, Jesse Rollinger and his wife, Keri and Christopher Rollinger and his wife, Amanda, her grandchildren, Kyra, Caleb, Dakota, Brock and Summer, her step children, Lisa Bub, David Hermes and Alischa Venezia, her sister, Shirley Anne Mcvaney and her devoted four pawed children, Forrest and Mocha.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reva Fire Hall, 18230 Birmingham Rd, Culpeper, VA 22701, per family request, please dress casual.

A private Celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Memorials and Tributes National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater New England Chapter PO Box 845945 Boston, MA 02284-5945.
