June Carolyn Shifflett

June Carolyn Shifflett, 68, of Stanardsville, after struggling for many years with her physical health, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2024.  She passed away peacefully at her home.

She was born on October 24, 1955, to the late Joseph Randolph Shifflett (Anne) and Janie Lamb Gibson (Curtis).

June is survived by her life partner, Ronnie Riner; her four daughters, Deana Parrott (Ronald), Crystal Riner, Jodie Harlow (Mitchell), and Jessica Walton.  She was also a proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren, Mandy Shifflett (Anthony), Joseph Parrott, Caitlin Riner (Chris), Brittany Harlow, Damien Harlow, Jorden Bruce (Samantha), Emily Walton, Gracie Walton, Vanessa Carver, Chelsea Anderson, and Sean Carver; and six great-grandchildren, Nathan Shifflett, Kaleb Shifflett, Raelynn Riner, Nariyah Dodson, Baylee Breeden, and Kingston Walton.  She is also survived by her two sisters, Linda Banks and Debra Bunch (Michael); her nephews, Lonnie Taylor, Jr. (Angie), Chad Shifflett, and Christopher Bunch (Kristen); her niece, Aimee Warren (John); and other loved great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and step-parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Shifflett; her son-in-law, Michael Walton; her brother-in-law, Ronnie Banks; her nephew, Christopher Taylor; and her niece, Theresa Taylor.

During her life, June worked for Microaire and for Technicolor.  She also loved church and attended services at Nortonsville Church of God when able.  She enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially the young children.  June had a bright smile and a kind thing to say to everyone, and she will be dearly missed by her family and many others.

The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Batten Funeral Home in Ruckersville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Batten Funeral Home with the Reverends Greg Payne and Dale Freeman officiating.  Interment will follow at the Shifflett Cemetery on South River Road, Theresa Lane.
