John “Jimmy” Samuel Morris
John “Jimmy” Samuel Morris, 76, of Charlottesville, VA died on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on August 7, 1936 in Greene County to the late, Samuel Morris and Mary Jane Morris.
Jimmy worked for Ann Shaw Kennedy as the manager of Woodville Farms since August of 1971.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Avis Lorene Morris, and his children, Leisa Holsapple, and her husband, Steve, Frank Morris and his wife, Tammy and Libbie Gibson and her friend Ron.
Additional survivors include his sisters, Roseleen Fisher and Donna Morris, his grandchildren, Nikki Morris and her friend, Troy, Roger Gibson, Jr., Jamie “Jake” Morris, Jessica Morris, Tara “Wiggles” Gibson and her fiancé, Keith, Dalton Morris and his fiancé, Jessica, Walker Morris and Austin “BooBoo” Linkous, and great grandchildren, Savana, Stormy, Taylor, Alexis and Sammy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Morris, and his siblings, Elbert Morris, Stephen Morris, Linda Morris, Lois Meadows, Doris May, Lennice Shifflett and Gordon Morris.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Church of the Brethren with Rev. C.C. Kurtz officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
