John M. French

John M. French, 78, of Ruckersville, VA died on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on March 6, 1933 in New Zealand to the late John and Unita Sullivan French.

As a child, Mr. French grew up on a dairy farm in New Zealand. He came to the United States after he graduated school to attend college and further his education. His vast knowledge was evident in scripture and in life as he could speak many different languages. Mr. French was very active with Ruckersville Baptist Church. His life and love was dedicated to the Lord and his family, friends and church will miss him greatly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret N. French, his son, Brian J. French of Bumpass, VA, three grandchildren, Michael French and his wife, Chrissy, T.J. French and Mindy Seger and her husband, Jason and four great grandchildren.

Additional survivors include two sisters, Valerie Webb and her husband, John and Lois Calvert and her husband, Ray all of New Zealand.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David W. French.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 S. Kings, Hwy Alexandria, VA, with Rev. Kyle Clements and Rev. Tom Moore officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Ruckersville Baptist Church Stained Glass Fund, PO Box 104 Ruckersville, VA 22968.
