Joan Wilson was called home to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born May 17, 1948, in Suffolk Virginia to Johnnie T. and Irene (Turner) Williams of Capron, Virginia.
Joan attended Norfolk State University and majored in math. She worked as a tax accountant for H&R Block for several years. She later worked as a certified nurse's assistant. Her last job was at Walmart where she worked as a greeter/cashier for over five years and was loved and adored by all that knew her.
Joan was married for 28 years to her husband William A. Wilson Jr/ Juicy (deceased). She will always be remembered by her 4 children Kenya Neal (Chris), Andre Sr. (GiGi), William the III and Tiffany, her siblings Johnnie Jr. (Lavonne), Kermit Sr. (Faye), Shelton Sr., Sandra Gaskins (Gary/deceased), Calvin Sr., Wanda Hughes, Frieda Cason (DeWayne), Andre Sharrod, brother-in-law Warren Ware, surviving uncles and aunts Robert Turner (Dora), Lorraine “Bea” Kendall, Ruth Brown, Gloria Turner (Charles), her 11 grandkids DeQuan Neal (Diana), Jamal Neal, Victoria Neal, William the IV, Kweli, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Angelina, Mariah(deceased) Andre Jr, Destiny, 4 great-grandkids Max, Ezra, Emory (deceased), Chloe special friends Dr & Mrs. Bernard Glover & family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and their family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Larry Williams and her sister Jacqueline Ware.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Ryan Funeral Home starting at 11 a.m. A homegoing celebration will begin at 12 noon with Pastor DeWayne Cason officiating.
