Joan S. Snyder

Joan S. Snyder, 83, of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away Monday, December 20, 2021.

Joan was born October 8, 1938 in Princeton, New Jersey, daughter of the late Harry Speinheimer and Mary Briggs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Dodge; sister, Miriam McCloskey; and brother, Harry Speinheimer.

Joan is survived by her husband, John H. Snyder of Charlottesville; daughter, Sherri Davis and her husband, Paul of Barboursville; son, Arthur Vandermark and his wife, Margaret of Charlottesville; son-in-law, Gary Dodge of Oregon; stepdaughters, Yvonne Hobbs of Virginia Beach, Deborah Lawrence and her husband, Jeff of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and Brenda Coady and her husband, Mike of Holly Springs, North Carolina; brother, Mickey Speinheimer; grandchildren, Laura Bond and her husband, Kevin of Loris, South Carolina, Justin Lawrence and his wife, Marisol of Ontario, California, Junea Loakes and her husband, Justin of Virginia Beach, Kelly Rourke of Chesapeake, Jeremy Davis and his wife, Jenna and Tyler Davis and his wife, Ashley all of Ruckersville; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Albemarle Baptist Church, 1685 Roslyn Ridge Road Charlottesville, Virginia 22901 with Pastor Marc Deloach officiating.  Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Holly Memorial Gardens.
