Jeanie Pearl Thompson, 83, went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2023. She was born on January 4th, 1940, to the late Luther and Minnie Roach.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Orman Carol Thompson, Sr., better known as Tommy, six brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her two brothers, Johnny Roach (Patsy) and Shirley Roach (Mary), eight children, Rodger Roach and partner, Diane, Debra Mouberry and husband Thomas, Edwin (Tomboy) Roach and wife Virginia, Dennis (Peewee) Roach, Orman (Pedro) Thompson, Jr. and wife Patricia, Harry (Cookie) Thompson and partner Marsha, Linda Seehase, Barbara Robbins and husband Bill, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanie was a very hardworking, loving woman. She took on various jobs, such as a cook, the best chef you could ever ask for, caretaker of all, and many others. She attended Eden Christian Fellowship for 11 years and attended numerous other churches. She was a true believer, and anytime church doors were open, and she was able, you would find her there. Her faith was admirable, and she loved God. She was a loving, caring, and spitfire of a woman who touched the lives of any and all she met. Her many stories of her life and adventures will be cherished forever. She was loved by all who truly knew her, and she will be sorely and deeply missed.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her sister-in-law, Tessie, UVA Health for their outstanding care throughout her lifetime, the Greene County Rescue Squad, including Crystal and Brian, and Medi Home Hospice, especially Felicia, Stephanie, and Grace, for their sincere and loving care.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 29th, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30th, at Batten Funeral Home, beginning at noon, with Pastor Edgar Green officiating. Interment will follow at Heaven’s Gate Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her adored husband.
