James Wilbert Morris, Sr.

James Wilbert Morris, Sr., 91, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at the University of Virginia Hospital. He was born November 16, 1923 in Rockingham County to the late Jesse James Morris and Vergie Roach Morris.
Mr. Morris proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a loving husband, kind father and fantastic grandfather who enjoyed his life to the absolute fullest. He loved to work and spent a lot of his time gardening and farming.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Marie Roach Morris; two daughters, Jannie M. Morris Greiman and her husband, Larry and Gloria Faye Shifflett and her husband, Oliver “Dickie”; son, James W. Morris, Jr.; granddaughter, Priscilla Faye Shifflett; brother, Theodore Lebert Morris and his wife, Glenda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerome Morris and Albright Morris.
The family would like to thank Dr. Duani and staff, UVA 6th floor, 3rd floor UVA Hospice, and the staff of Ryan Funeral Home for their care and compassion.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at Middle River Pentecostal Church Cemetery with John and Hattie Mary Shifflett officiating.
