James Kenneth Breeden

James Kenneth Breeden, 81, of Stanardsville, VA, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at his residence. He was born on April 28, 1942, in Laurel, MD to the late James and Vella Breeden.

He is survived by the love of his life, and wife of 62 years, Joan Shifflett Breeden; his children, Lisa Breeden (Mike Spatz), Mark Breeden (Sharon), Kim Breeden (Mark Fitzgerald), Nikki Marshall (Steve); sister, Jan Weeks (Steve); grandchildren James (Heather), Justin, Kirsti (Sean), Dexter (Alex), Ryan, Makayla, Colby, Kirtley, Tyler, Kyle, Tucker, Kristen, and Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Seth), Emily, Abby, Rhett, Emmett, Max Grayson, Jack, and Tate; great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Eloise, and Daniel; special nephew and niece, Corey and Jeannette Shifflett; and special cousin, Glen Collier.

Jimmy enjoyed camping, watching his grandkids play ball, and sports, especially the Redskins, Washington Nationals, and any Ford racing. Jimmy was known to spend money, but if you asked him, it was “because your momma (Joan) wanted it”. But above all else, Jimmy loved spending time with his family who he loved endlessly.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens with Pastor Glenn Shifflett officiating.
