Irene Margaret Dubay
Irene Margaret Dubay, 64, of Faber, VA died on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on April 29, 1947 in Canada to the late Ned and Theresa Lagasse.
Irene had a passion for life and her family. She loved animals, knitting, crocheting and playing bingo. Her strong heart and sprit made her a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by so many.
She is survived by her children, Alton Dubay, Jr. and his wife, Norma of Palmyra and Theresa Dubay and her fiancé, Tim Mawyer of Faber and her granddaughter, Shyan Dubay.
Additional survivors include her siblings, Charleen Norton, Linda Griffin and her husband, Bruce, brother-in-law, John Britton, nephews, Joey Britton, Rodney Britton and Jeff Griffin, nieces, Carol Corbin, Tammy Norton, Lisa Searcy and Tina Safely and numerous other family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Joseph Dubay, Sr., her sister, Cecile Britton and her niece, Cara Lee Searcy.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends after the service at Linda and Bruce Griffin’s home, 280 Westwood Rd Stanardsville, VA 22973.
