Hazel Katherine Collier

Hazel Katherine Collier, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Allen Shifflett and Lessie Mildred Shifflett; husband, John Franklin Collier Sr.; son, John Franklin Collier Jr; and siblings, George Shifflett, Joseph Shifflett, Fannie Mae Shifflett, Goldie Deane, Doris Deane, and Margaret McCardell. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Deborah Townsend; sons, David Edwin Collier, Stuart Allen Collier, and Wendell Wade Collier; sister, Sylvia Morris; grandchildren, Amber Baker, Taylor Collier, Adam Townsend, Story Collier, Jessica Townsend, and Travis Collier; great-grandchildren, Addison Forloins and Gunner Baker; and two special friends to Hazel, Phyllis Morris of Dyke, Va and Victoria from the rehab center. 

The family will receive friends Monday, November 18th from 6-8 p.m. at Batten Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 19th at 11 a.m. at Batten Funeral Home with a graveside service immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery.
