Harvey J. Garrison, 54, of Barboursville, VA passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at his residence. He was born on April 25, 1957 in Albemarle, VA to Gracie V. Garrison of Barboursville and the late Harvey Garrison.
Coonie loved playing horseshoes, watching the Washington Redskins and NASCAR. Above all, he loved his children, especially his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his children, Heather Breeden and her husband, Eric of Greenwood, Cindy Garrison of North Garden and Lee Garrison of Greenwood and seven grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Freda Shifflett of Free Union, Brenda K. Knight of Boonesville, David Garrison of Scottsville, Patricia A. Mawyer of Scottsville and Carolyn Sue Morris of Greene, his half sister, Maxine Might of West Virginia, his half brother, Richard Garrison of Waynesboro and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, James Thomas “JT” Garrison.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Prize Hill Church with Pastor Curtis Morris officiating.
Interment will follow in Prize Hill Cemetery.
