Granville Roscoe Sours

Granville Roscoe Sours, loving husband, father and grandfather, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
He was born on September 3, 1924 in Page County, VA, son of the late Robert W. Sours and Lottie E. Sours.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Margie Lucille Sours; two sisters, Gladys M. Sours, Murle E. Broy; three brothers, Ray W. Sours, Earl F. (Tink) Sours, Bernard R. (Dick) Sours; and grandson, Michael W. Sours.
He is survived by his daughter, Shirley J. Sours; son, Wayne R. Sours and wife, Marie; two grandsons, David W. Sours and fiancée, Rachel and Kevin W. Sours and wife, Amanda; two sisters, Nina M. Gray and Joyce A. Knight and husband, Frankie.
Granville was a veteran of the U.S. Army having proudly fought for his country during World War II. In addition to working many years as a machinist for Monticello Dairy in Charlottesville, VA and in his later years part time for Chiles Orchard, he was a lumberjack, auto mechanic, sawmiller, and roofer.
A private graveside service was held on July 2, 2018 at Holly Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in Granville’s memory to Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 3595 Grand Forks Blvd. Charlottesville, VA 22911 and/or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
